The Boys’ Soccer team beat Duluth East 3-1 to advance to the AAA State Championship! The Trojans had a quick start with a goal by Tyler Maahs. Praman Khadka sent the ball in on a corner kick and Maahs finished it with a header in 2nd minute of play. Goerge Soeffker was unassisted on his first of two goals. Soeffker went upper right on a free kick one minute into the second half to make it 2-0 Trojans. Soeffker hit a second goal off a pass from Preston Williams in the 55th minute. Duluth East’s Connor Lehr added one for the Greyhounds in the 64th minute. Goalkeeper Lucas Woodrum finished the game with 5 saves.
Wayzata will play the winner of Edina and St. Paul Central in the AAA State Championship on Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium, 10:15 a.m.

The Boys’ Soccer team beat St. Michael-Albertville 2-0 to advance to the AAA State Semifinals at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Trojans were able to find the back of the net early in the 2nd half on a goal by Preston Williams. George Soeffker made it 2-0 with 30 minutes remaining in the game.Â
Wayzata will play the winner of Eastview & Duluth East on Wednesday at U.S. Bank Stadium at 8 a.m.

The Boys’ Soccer team beat Washburn 3-2 in a 6 round shootout. The Trojans and Millers were tied 2-2 at regulation and were unable to find the net in the two overtimes.
Charlie Nelson and Preston Williams each scored a second half goal for the Trojans. Lucas Woodrum made a save in the 6th round of the shootout and Bennett McCain scored the game winning goal.
Wayzata will play in the AAA State Quarterfinals on Wednesday, October 28. The Trojans will play STMA at Spring Lake Park High School, 7:30 p.m. The Girls’ Soccer team will play Duluth East in the 5:30 game.
