Girls Soccer 2025 AAA State Runner Up

The Girls’ Soccer team lost to Stillwater 3-2 i the AAA Championship game. Sophie Alvarez, Lauren Craig, Ava Molde, and Alex Vellieux were named to the AAA All-Tournament Team.

Wayzata built a two-goal advantage in the first half. Sophomore forward Ava Molde scored in the 10th minute with nary a Stillwater defender within 10 yards of her. Later, the Trojans bumped the lead to two goals on a successful strike by junior forward Lauren Craig. 

Wayzata (16-1-2) was attempting to add to its legacy with its ninth state championship. Instead, the Trojans finished as the state runner-up for the eighth time. In addition to the eight titles, Wayzata has seven third-place finishes. ~ MSHSL

The Girls’ Soccer team beat Prior Lake 2-1 to advance to the AAA State Championship. Wayzata will play Stillwater on Friday at U.S. Bank Stadium, 8 a.m. See information below regarding fan buses and student dismissal.

The Girls’ Soccer team beat St. Michael-Albertville 1-0 in the AAA State Quarterfinal game on Tuesday, October 21. Wayzata will now play in the AAA State Semifinals on Wednesday, October 29, at 8:00 a.m.

Congratulations to the Girls Soccer team on winning the Section 6AAA Championship! The Trojans beat Rogers 7-1 to advance to the AAA State Tournament.

The AAA State Tournament is a seeded tournament. The quarterfinal dates are 10/21-10/23 at outdoor neutral sites. The semifinals and finals are played at U.S. Bank Stadium.

AAA State Championship:

The Wayzata Girls’ Soccer team will play in the AAA State Championship on Friday, October 31, at 8:00 a.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Student Fan Bus Grades 9-12:

Wayzata High School students can purchase a ticket to ride the fan bus for $10 plus fees using the link below:

    • The deadline to purchase tickets for the student fan bus is 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, or until we are sold out.  The number of buses we can order depends on the number of bus drivers available.
    • Buses will load at 6:45 a.m. and leave the athletic entrance promptly at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, and return to WHS immediately after the game. 
    • Backpacks will be left in the activities office.
    • Students will sign up for a specific “color” bus and must ride it to and from the game.
    • There will be no refunds.
    • Space is limited.
    • This $10 fee does not cover the cost of a game ticket.

  7. Add Comment of “Girls Soccer State Tournament”
  8. Click Save
