Congratulations to the Girls’ Track & Field team on winning the 2026 AAA State Championship. This is the second win in a row for the Trojans and their third State Championship overall (2007, 2025, 2026).
- Wayzata’s individual performances, not only the ones that captured championships but also the others that had high finishes, paved the way to the team title. The Trojans compiled 90 points to easily outdistance St. Michael-Albertville, which was runner-up with 49. Hastings was six points back in third place.
- Wayzata senior Maddie Gullickson finished her prep career on a high note by winning the 1,600 and helping the Trojans to their team title. Her time of 4:41.65 was an all-time Minnesota record, eclipsing the previous mark of 4:46.14 set by Lakeville North’s Elizabeth Yetzer in 2004. Gullickson also won the 3,200 on Day 1 of the state meet. She also was the Class AAA cross country champion in the fall. ~ MSHSL
